'Mayu' is the Quechua word for river. This piece was named after the sacred ritual of a young weaver. After completing her first textile, she offers it to the river, where it will continue to flow just as her knowledge does. 

The nature of alpaca fiber adapts to your temperature and regulates itself depending on your environment. Baby grade is usually the result of a young alpaca's first shearing, when the coat is at its softest and shortest, resulting in the finest fiber.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

This piece is made from 100% baby alpaca — soft, breathable, and self-cleaning by nature. To keep them looking beautiful for years to come, follow these simple tips:

  • Airing is caring: After wear, simply air out your knit to freshen it up.
  • Spot clean when possible: Alpaca naturally repels dirt, so small marks can be gently dabbed away with cold water.
  • Hand wash only: If a full wash is needed, hand wash in cold water with a mild wool detergent.
  • Dry flat: Reshape and lay flat on a towel, away from direct sunlight or heat.
  • No hanging: Store folded to maintain the shape and avoid stretching.
  • Gently brush if pilling appears: Pilling is rare in alpaca but use a soft garment brush or wool comb to carefully remove them if any appear.
